The Restoration

The Bloodless Revolution
During this time the protestants didn't want a king any more, well a Catholic king. They thought he was going to die out. Then the king had another son and when he had another son they were lilke o no! not another Catholic leader. So the protestants ran him out so that he couldn't rule anymore. Instead of beheading him or having a war they just kicked him out.
I think this is pretty funny, but it was a wonderful idea because no one had to die for a change!

*satire*

Satire means to make jokes, I asked Brittany to help me understand and, she said like " it's when jokes are being told about real life situations" and now i understand! My example is Family Guy. I look at that show all the time. . and they pick at things so much oin there , but it's like real life situations. Even if it's sad they found something funny out of the whole thing.

The Modest Proposal*

At first i thought he was serious. And then he went on about how they liked eatting kids. I thought that was very sick, but he was saying that they treat the poor very bad, anyways so they should just go ahead and eat them as if they were somehting to eat anyways. I mean if you think about it that kind of stuff still goes on today. People get treated wrong when everyone should be treated equal no matter what.

The Diary Of Samuel Pepys*

I decided to read The Diary of Samuel Pepys, because i thought that it would be easy! The first entry i decided to read is when he wrote about what happend on July 11th, 1664 A Bad Night. The the heading really got me to want to read it. What happens on the night of July the 11th, Samuel thought that some thieves were in his house. At first i thought he was sick " to bed. And there fell into a most mighty sweat in the night" By Samuel saying this i thought he was a little under the weather. When he notice that it wasn't some thieves , he found out that it was only a dog. " it was only a dog wants a lodging and so made a noise". So by him being disturbed at the moment it effected his sleep for the rest of the night.

I also decided to read September 2,1666 The First Day of the Great Fire of London. The geat fire was a major problem. It happend on sunday Sep the 2nd to Wednesday Sep the 5th 1666. The fire went through the city of London. Samuel was very shooked by what was going on " So down, with my heart full of trouble". This let me know that he was very upset and scared about the situatuation. So many things went on that day, houses were getting burnt down, churches too! Samuel order but no one would listen to him, he tried to give order so he prayed to God for guidence." Lord, what can I do? I am spent. People will not obey me. I have been pulling down houses. but the fire overtakes us faster then we can do it." So this day, bet the people thought they were in hell.

During this time i think the most important thing to people was to live everyday like it's your last. This was a very painful era at the same time. I bet it showed how you can have something one min and the next min its gone. This event really reminds me of huricane Katrina.... even if i wasnt in their shoes i also knew that it had to be hard for the ones that had to leave family & friends behind not knowing if they were dead or alive. But they had good spirits about the whole thing even if the situation was breath taking they came together and held their heads up high and moved on with their life.

Not bad. You could add some to the section on A Modest Proposal to get a higher score.
